I began my sourdough journey because I’m gluten intolerant and wanted a bread option I could actually enjoy—bread is something I simply couldn’t give up!

In 2022, I first tried gluten-free sourdough, but I struggled to get consistent results. Eventually, I discovered that with a long fermentation process, it’s possible for some people with gluten intolerance to enjoy regular sourdough too.

This inspired me to learn how to make sourdough myself. I won’t lie—I was intimidated at first because it seemed so precise, like every step had to happen at exactly the right time to get a successful loaf. I’m not really a “precise” baker; I bake more by feel. When I add inclusions, I have a base amount in mind, but most of the time I end up adding extra just to make it even more delicious!

Because of this, I want to share my simplified approach to sourdough so that you can easily make bread for your family too.

Once I started getting consistent results, I brought a loaf to a Christmas potluck at work. It was such a hit that two coworkers asked me to start bringing them bread regularly—and they’d pay me for it! That led to taking my sourdough to farmers markets. Today, I bake 100–150 loaves per week for market sales and weekly orders. I absolutely love connecting with my customers and chatting with everyone who stops by about sourdough.

These conversations inspired me to create a community where you can learn how to make sourdough simple and approachable—and also connect with others who share the same passion.

This is my mature starter that I have dehydrated and packaged for you. It comes with 10 grams of starter. 5 grams to make your starter with and 5 grams to keep as a backup.

I like to always have a backup on hand because I have kids and you never know what will happen. They could knock something into it, or dump it out on accident. I also have read posts in some of my groups where their husbands baked their starter or dumped it out thinking it was something bad. So it is always good to keep a backup on hand.

The great thing about a dehydrated starter is that it only takes 7 days to be ready to bake with it!
